Khadiza along with her three children surrendered this afternoon around 16 hours after police cordoned off the house in Ghop Central Road of Jessore town.

Khadiza, sister of Gulshan café attack’s coordinator Nurul Islam Marjan, surrendered before police after her parents reached the house from Pabna district around 3:00pm, our Benapole correspondent reports.

A bomb disposal unit entered the four-storey building soon after the law enforcers took Khadiza, her children and parents with them, said Ajmal Huda, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jessore Sadar Police Station.

However, no explosive was found from the house till last reported, OC Ajmal said.

Based on information, a team of Jessore police along with a team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit cordoned off the house since 11:00pm yesterday suspecting presence of Marzan’s sister, said Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police in Jessore.

Khadiza who was staying at the second floor of the building, in the morning told police she will surrender before police when her parents will come to her.

Earlier in the day, SP Anisur said, one to two women along with at least one child are suspected to be inside the house and they were being urged to surrender since last night.

Marjan was killed in a shootout with police in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area. Marjan, also a Neo-JMB activist, is believed to have supplied arms to the Gulshan café attackers.
