Primary, Ebtedayee exams begin tomorrow

Primary Education Completion Examination and its equivalent Ebtedayee Education Completion Examination will begin across the country tomorrow.

A total of 29,03,638 students -- 25,53,267 students from the general stream while 3,50,371 from madrassa – are expected to appear in the examinations this year, according to primary and mass education ministry.

The examinations will be held at 7,458 centres across the country and twelve centres abroad. Exams would start at 10:30 am and end at 1:00 pm every day.

Children with special needs would be given an extra 30 minutes.

On the first day, both general and madrassa students will take English examination, they will appear for Bangla on November 18, Bangladesh and Global Studies on November 19 and Mathematics on November 24.

PECE examinees will take Science on November 20 and Religion on November 21 while madrassa students will take Arabic on November 20 and Quran Majid and Tajweed on November 21.

The examinations will end on November 24.

This year, the number of examinees in PECE has been dropped by 2,23,615 and in Ebtedayee number of candidates fall by 30,983 in comparison to the previous year, Primary and Mass Education Minister Zakir Hossain said on Thursday.
