Tofazzel made PM’s personal secretary

Additional Secretary Tofazzel Hossain Miah, who was director general of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), has been made personal secretary-1 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Ministry of Public Administration today published a gazette notification to make the decision effective immediately.  

The appointment will remain effective as long as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina holds the PM’s post or she desires to keep Tofazzel as her personal secretary-1, the gazette read.  

Earlier in a separate gazette notification of the ministry, Additional Secretary Sajjadul Hassan, who was personal secretary-1 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been promoted to the acting secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Besides, Md Raisul Alam Mondal, director of environment directorate (additional secretary) has been promoted to acting secretary of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry.

Apart from these, Additional Secretary of Local Government Division Saurav Nath Chakraborty has been promoted to the acting secretary of the Statistic and Information Management Division.
