Probe body formed on Gaibandha road crash
An 11-member probe body has been formed to investigate into yesterday's road crash in Gaibandha where 18 people were killed and 28 others injured.
The probe body led by Shishir Kumar Roy, additional secretary (estate) Road Transport and Highways Division, has been asked submit a report within the next seven working days, said a circulation of the division today.
The body comprises of deputy commissioner (DC) of Gaibandha, deputy inspector general of police (highway), representatives of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), representatives of bus owners and workers, it said.
The investigators will ascertain the cause of the accident, trace out those responsible for it and suggest preventive measures to avert the recurrence of such accidents.
Yesterday alone, fifty-two people were killed, including the Gaibangdha victims on the country's roads.
