Rail links with Ctg restored after 4 hours
Rail communication between Chittagong and other parts of the country were suspended for more than four hours as an intercity train derailed at Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria this afternoon.
Two compartments of the Chittagong-bound Paharika Express from Sylhet derailed near Imambaria Railway Station around 4:25 pm, suspending the rail links of Chittagong with other parts of the country, said Relief Train Officer of Akhaura Loco Shed Engineer Delwar Hossain.
The rail communication was restored around 8:35pm after the damaged carriages were removed from the tracks, he said.
The reason for the derailment could not be known immediately. No casualties were reported.
