7 burnt in Gazipur factory fire

At least seven people sustained “severe burn injuries” as a fire broke out at a cosmetics factory in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur this afternoon.

The fire originated at FM Cosmetics Limited in Madhyapara area of the upazila around 5:00pm, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

Seven people were burnt critically in the fire, Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kaliakoir Police Station, told The Daily Star.

They were rushed to Kaliakoir Upazila Health Complex and other nearby clinics, he said adding the identities of the injured could not be known immediately.

Three units of firefighters have doused the fire hours after the incident, he said.
