Snatching AL men from cops: Case filed

A case has been filed against 10 named and 50 other anonymous people over the incident of ruling party men snatching away detainees from police custody in Mymensingh.

Abul Kashem, an assistant sub-inspector of local police station, filed the case last night, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

ASI Kashem along with three policemen raided Kandipara Bazar area for illegal drugs and criminals linked to the business, said Badrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Pagla Police Station.

During the raid in Goforgaon upazila, police arrested a local Awami League leader, Russel Ahmed for possessing illegal firearms. Another is Alam Mia, a member of Usthi union parishad.

When police were taking the detainees to police station, some local AL men snatched Russel and Alam by force from police around 6:30pm, OC Badrul said.
