Stone worker killed in Sylhet pit

A stone worker was killed while working at a stone quarry in Goainghat upazila of Sylhet this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Ruhen Ahmed, 22, son of Jalal Uddin of Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district.

Ruhen, a stone extractor, got stuck under pile of soil after a landslip inside a stone pit around 9:00am, Officer-in-Charge of Goainghat Police Station told our correspondent.

“Locals rescued Ruhen and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead” the OC added.
