Train set on fire in Mymensingh

Miscreants set fire to an inter-city train stationed at Mymensingh railway station this evening.

No immediate casualties were reported except for several seats of a carriage of Chittagong-bound Bijoy Express were burnt in the fire around 7:00 pm, said Abdul Mannan Farazi, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police Station in Mymensingh.

The Railway Nirapotta Bahini (RNB) members rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control immediately, the OC said.

Law enforcers picked up three persons in this connection, our local correspondent reports quoting the police official.

“It is an act of sabotage and we are trying to arrest the culprits,” the police official said adding that they have picked three persons for primary interrogation.
