Transport owners postpones strike at Ctg port
Transport owners and workers of the Chittagong port postponed their strike around nine hours after they went on the agitation.
The transport owners and workers went on strike around 9:00am protesting entry fees at the port, said Abu Bakar Siddique, executive president of Chittagong Prime Mover, Trailer, Truck, Covered Van, Flatbed Owners Association.
They came up with the decision to with draw their strike around 6:30pm following assurance of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) tohold talk with them, he added.
Since March 1, without any prior discussion,the authorities of Inland Container Depots (ICD) increased entry fee by Tk 50 and Tk 100 as perking fee for each vehicle,he told our Chittagong correspondent.
