Bangladesh seeks $250m from WB for Rohingyas

Bangladesh sought USD250 million from the World Bank to provide health service to Rohingya refugees, State Minister for Health Zahid Malik said today.

“We recently sent a letter to the global lender. We hope we will get the fund from the global lender,” the state minister told reporters at his office today.

The Rohingya Muslim minorities have been fleeing to Bangladesh following persecution in Myanmar since August 25. The exodus of refugees has reached to 4,36,000.

Bangladesh government sought international help for the Rohingyas who have taken shelter in the country.
