Covid-19: 14 die, 845 infected, 1,117 recover in 24 hours

Fourteen people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 8,476 and the death rate stands at 1.54 percent.

At least 845 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 5,51,175, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 4.98 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.24 percent.

A total of 16,958 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 1,117 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stand at 5,04,120 and the recovery rate at 91.46 percent.

Among the deceased, 10 were men, four women and two were within 41-50 years old, four were between 51-60, and eight were above 60 years old, added the release.
