Indian held with 2 kg gold in Dhaka airport

Customs officials have held an Indian citizen with two kg gold at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka yesterday evening.

Four gold bars weighing 500 grammes each were seized from the possession of detainee Kuldeep Singh who was held around 7:30pm from a flight from Bangkok to Dhaka via Chittagong, Saidul Islam, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Custom House, told The Daily Star. 

The gold bars were hidden inside the arrestee's shoes, Saidul added.
