Mother, two children stabbed dead in Sylhet
A woman and two children were stabbed to death at their house in Sylhet's Gowainghat upazila.
The deceased are Alima Begum (30), and her children Mijan (10) and Tanisha (3).
Alima's husband Hifzur Rahman was rescued and admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital with critical injuries, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting the police.
Confirming the incident, Abdul Ahad, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station, said, "There are deep wounds in their head and throat. We assume the incident took place any time between the night and early morning."
"Neighbours in the morning heard groaning from inside the house, and the door was open. When they entered, they found the bodies of the mother, children, and the critically wounded man. On information, police reached the spot," he said.
"No case has been filed so far, but the police started an investigation. The bodies were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy," the OC said.
