Bodies of Marzan, Saddam bear multiple bullet marks
The bodies of Neo JMB leaders Nurul Islam Marzan and Saddam Hossain, who were killed in yesterday’s “gunfight” with law enforcers, bear marks of multiple bullets.
Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of the forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, told this to The Daily Star after conducting autopsy on the bodies today.
“We have collected viscera and DNA samples for different other tests,” he added.

The “gunfight” took place in front of Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals Memorial on Beribadh in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area yesterday.
Marzan allegedly coordinated the Gulshan café attack while Saddam Hossain alias Rahul led “Neo JMB” activities in the northern region.
According to law enforcers, Marzan was next in the rank to top Neo JMB coordinator Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury while Saddam was wanted in at least 10 murder cases, including that for the killing of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi in Rangpur and Jogeshwar Das Adhikari in Panchagarh.
Marzan along with more than a dozen other militant leaders grabbed the attention of law enforcers after the café attack, which left 22 people, mostly foreigners, dead on July 1 last year.
