Gulshan Shopping Centre fire doused, no casualty reported

A fire that broke out at a shopping centre in Dhaka's Gulshan area early today, was doused.

Ten fire-fighting units doused the flames in a three-hour effort after the fire caught on the fifth floor of the six-storey Gulshan Shopping Centre around 3:15am, said Rozina Akhter, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

The fire damaged goods of a garment factory on the floor but no casualty was reported, she added.

Further details regarding the incident could not be known immediately.
