DU student rape in Kurmitola: 4 more give depositions

Four more prosecution witnesses, including a Dhaka metropolitan magistrate, today gave their depositions before a Dhaka tribunal in connection with the case filed over the rape of a DU student in Dhaka's Kurmitola earlier this year.

The three others are an assistant sub-inspector, a physician and a civilian.

Judge Begum Mosammat Quamrunnahar of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 of Dhaka recorded their statements.

Court sources said the magistrate recorded the confessional statement of accused Md Majnu and the physician conducted a medical test of the victim. And two others were present during the time of the seizure list.

On January 5, the DU student was raped while she was walking from Kurmitola bus stop to a friend's house near Shewra Rail gate in the capital around 7:30pm after getting off a university bus.
