Renowned lyricist, composer, and singer Pratul Mukhopadhyay, best known for his iconic song "Ami Banglay Gaan Gai", is currently in critical condition and receiving treatment in the ICU of SSKM Hospital, Kolkata. The legendary artiste has been hospitalised for over two weeks, as per multiple Indian media outlets.

Pratul was admitted to SSKM in the first week of January due to a severe illness. He had been experiencing nosebleeds, prompting an urgent examination by neurologists and ENT specialists. His condition remains unstable, and doctors continue to monitor him closely in intensive care.

Reports from another Indian media outlet reveal that Pratul suffered a heart attack following intestinal surgery and has since contracted an antibiotic-resistant infection. In addition to this, he is also battling pneumonia.
