Doja Cat faces backlash as 200k followers 'cancel' her
It seems like Doja Cat's ninth life is at its end as she lost 200k followers on Instagram. The hate she sent to her fans is starting to take its toll on her popularity
It appears that Doja Cat's once thriving fan base is now in turmoil as the musician faces the repercussions of recent scandals, resulting in a significant loss of 200k followers on Instagram.
In a recent series of tweets, Doja Cat made controversial statements that further alienated her listeners, leading many to finally give up on supporting her.
In response to a request to express her love for her fans, Doja Cat shockingly stated, "I don't, cuz I don't even know yall." Another tweet questioned her about loving her "kittenz" (referring to her fanbase), and she responded with a dismissive, "I don't know what the f**k that means."
Adding to the dismay, the Say So singer criticised her fanbase for adopting the name "Kittenz", asserting that fans should not be the ones naming themselves. She expressed her frustration, urging them to focus on more important things like finding jobs and assisting their parents.
Prior to this incident, Doja Cat had expressed anger towards her fans previously for allegedly stealing posters of her single, Attention, from public walls.
Notably, Doja Cat's behaviour has not gone unnoticed by her peers in the industry, with even Charli XCX tweeting, "doja cat's being so grumpy!"
This marks the first time that Doja Cat's rude behaviour towards her fans has resulted in tangible consequences in terms of follower count. The question remains whether she will be able to mend the damage caused by this self-sabotaging behaviour and regain the support of her once-loyal fan base.
