Eminem requests protective order against 'Real Housewives' stars

In an ongoing legal tussle between renowned rapper Eminem and "The Real Housewives of Potomac" celebrities Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, the hip-hop icon has sought a protective order.

Eminem lodged the request on December 15 as part of their trademark dispute case surrounding the name of the podcast, "Reasonably Shady", initiated by Bryant and Dixon.

The filing comes as a response to the TV personalities' October request for Eminem's in-person appearance for a deposition, which the rapper opposed. Citing limited knowledge of the contested matters, Eminem expressed that being deposed himself would be "unduly burdensome."

Highlighting that the motion filed by Bryant, 53, and Dixon, 44, was "premature and procedurally improper," the legal documents emphasised that Mathers (Eminem) had not yet been served properly, despite initially opposing their trademark application in February 2023.

The legal clash ensued after Bryant and Dixon sought trademark rights for their podcast's name, aiming to market merchandise under the same brand. Eminem's team raised opposition, citing potential consumer confusion due to the rapper's long-standing association with monikers like Slim Shady and Shady, which he legally owns for use on his music and merchandise.
