Gaan Bangla’s TV broadcast stopped
The broadcast of Gaan Bangla Television has been suspended. Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited has decided to halt the broadcast due to unpaid satellite fees.
Shah Ahmedul Kabir, the General Manager of the Sales and Marketing Department of Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited, confirmed the news.
Ahmedul Kabir said, "The channel owes us a significant amount of money. As per our agreement, the timeline for availing services has been repeatedly exceeded by the organisation."
Despite multiple reminders and formal notices sent to Gaan Bangla authorities, they have only made minimal payments. As a result, the connection has been temporarily suspended. He added that the connection would be restored once the dues are cleared.
Ahmedul Kabir stated that the broadcast of Gaan Bangla Channel has been suspended since 12 PM on Wednesday.
He stated, "Kaushik Hossain Taposh, the Managing Director of the organization, and his wife, Chairperson Farzana Munny, have never been in contact with us. Instead, it is Taposh's father, Delwar Hossain Raja, who communicates with us. We spoke with him on Tuesday and explained the situation, highlighting the substantial dues owed by the channel and our inability to continue the connection under these circumstances."
In response to the question about the amount of dues, Ahmedul Kabir stated that Gaan Bangla Channel owes BDT 1,60,32,000 as satellite fees.
