Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, and other coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement recently welcomed the new year alongside the July fighters, who have been permanently disabled in more ways than one. Prince Mahmud shared a short video on his official Facebook account featuring the group singing one of his songs while celebrating the occasion.

The July fighters, left physically disadvantaged after the indiscriminate attacks on them prior to the mass uprising that ousted the previous fascist regime, are still either undergoing treatment or learning to adapt to their new lives at the cost of their health and physical abilities.

The coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement have supported the July fighters since the beginning of their hardships. Hence, their admirable decision to ring in the new year alongside the July fighters demonstrates their consistent solidarity.

As part of the celebrations, the coordinators joined the July fighters in singing the iconic song "Amar Shonar Bangla" by renowned musician Prince Mahmud. The singer was so moved by their performance that he shared a short clip of them singing his song.

Prince Mahmud expressed, "As I watched them sing and the smiles of the July heroes who have been forever scarred, tears welled up in my eyes with each passing moment."

"I never imagined experiencing this song in such a profound way. Though the country may recover, the boys remain permanently scarred," he added to his post.
