Kristen Stewart directs short film for indie band Boygenius
Indie supergroup Boygenius—comprised of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker—have released a 14-minute long, short film for their new album "The Record". Simply called, "The Film", the music video/short film is made of the trio's three songs, "$20", "Emily I'm Sorry" and "True Blue".
The visual treat has been directed by Academy Award nominated actress Kristen Stewart. The actress turned director catapulted to fame with the cult favourite, "Twilight" franchise. Kristen has also ventured out into the realm of directing, debuting with "The Chronology of Water".
In the album and subsequent premiere of "The Film" on Thursday, Kristen called the experience of being asked to direct, "a knockout".
She also added, "It felt like a fever dream making this thing. And I imagine if you got to step into what feels like their shared consciousness, that you might feel on fire, too."
