Mehreen’s new album ‘Bondhuta’ gets vinyl release

On Saturday, popular singer Mehreen released her solo album, "Bondhuta", under the banner of RTV Music with a grand event.

 

With the evolution of technology, everybody has slowly forgotten about the existence of vinyl records. However, these old school versions of CDs still hold a lot of fascination for many.

On Saturday, popular singer Mehreen released her solo album, "Bondhuta", under the banner of RTV Music with a grand event. Alongside the traditional formats, the artiste also released a vinyl edition of the album—making it the first time in 40 years that a vinyl record was released in Bangladesh.

RTV Chief Executive Officer Syed Ashiq Rahman gave a welcome speech at the event. 

Humayun Kabir Bablu, Managing Director of RTV, lyricist Kabir Bakul, Foad Nasser Babu of Feedback, Mejbah Rahman of Different Touch, Sayed Hasan Tipu of Obscure, and others were also present at the event. 

"Bondhuta" consists of five songs from Tagore and five from Nazrul.

Mehreen feels that releasing her album on vinyl will help bring back a lost tradition.
