A musical, carnivalesque meeting of two Bengals

A drenched, excited and patiently waiting crowd welcomed artistes at Hall 4 of the International Convention Centre Bashundhara in the capital, on Thursday eve.

Magical Night, a concert organised by Triple Time Communications, opened its gates with the Hatirpool Sessions as soon as the clock struck 5.

Kick-starting the event with Monohor, they went on to perform many others, including "Tulonamulok Rodchaya" and "Anondo Dao", finally taking the crowd by storm with their most cherished "Upo", beautifully presented. The essence continued as the crowd swayed with Ahmed Hasan Sunny as he performed "Shohorer Duita Gaan".

Next up was Meghdol. With Shibu Kumar Shill on the mic, the band presented some of their very best, including "Esho Amar Shohore" and "Na Bola Phul". They bid farewell, setting high hopes for Taalpatar Shepai, the young band from Kolkata who were next in line.

Singing on top of their voices, the cheering crowd joined the band without complaints as they performed "Chander Shohor", "Ogochhalo Mon", "Sonar Kathi" and "Moshader Chumu", finally leaving the stage in the hands of Anupam Roy.

Claiming the 'showstopper' badge rightfully, the singer and his members played beautifully. Anupam's energy, paired with the innocence and charm of his compositions, teleported the audience to the time when they might have experienced their first love, disappointment, heart-break and so much more.

Singing seven tracks back-to-back – "Ami Aajkal Bhalo Aachi", "Benche Thakar Gaan", "Bariye Dao", "Je Kawta Din, Lokkhiti", and "Bandhu Chol", the band left the stage with "Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao" and a selfie with their beloved fans to treasure the encounter.

However, controversy brewed as he had to leave the stage early, owing some problems that came up due to time management. Anupam admittedly wanted to perform more songs for the loving audience.

The final performer, Arnob, began his set with "Tomar Jonno Nilche Tara". He surprised everyone when he paid tribute to Moheener Ghoraguli, with the classic "Prithibita Naki Choto Hote Hote".

The concert was made memorable due to the talent of the performers, despite some issues that arose during it. However, they do deserve credit for pulling off such an ambitious concert.
