Musical festivities for Abanti Sithi
Abanti Sithi won many hearts with her melodious voice and engaging performances on stage. She became a musical sensation soon after her participation in the popular Indian reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". Additionally, she is known for her ingenious ability to whistle, and use cups to give an impressive musical performance.
In a conversation with The Daily Star, Abanti Sithi talked about her Puja plans and other ventures.
What are your plans for this Puja? Do you have something special in mind?
Puja has always been a special occasion for me. However, due to the pandemic, I have not been able to celebrate it wholeheartedly.
I have not planned anything special to do for this Puja, as I will be very busy with my work commitments. In the past, I used to visit my ancestral home in Jamalpur.
This year, I have concerts on Navaratri, and I also have live shows on TV. So, I have to celebrate my Puja by fulfilling my work commitments. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to meeting my family during Puja.
Tell us something about your recent Puja song. Are you currently working on any new projects?
Recently, four of my Puja songs were released. Among them, "Pujo Abar Jome Jabe" has gained a good response from the audience. Additionally, the song "Mayer Agomoni" has been appreciated by all.
Above all, the song "Joy Durga Maa" is a very special song to me as people from both Bangladesh and India have collaborated on it, and the song features many renowned singers such as Kumar Bishwajit, Rupankar Bagchi, Iman Chakraborty, Kishore Das and others.
How was your experience on "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa"? Are you still in touch with your fellow participants?
I spent the loveliest eight months of my life there, and it was an eye-opening experience for me. I still cherish the memories that I made, and I learned a lot from "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". Words will fall short to describe the valuable teachings and grooming that I have gained from this amazing show. In short, I have spent the years 2018 and 2019 very productively.
I still have a wonderful rapport with my fellow participants from "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa". In the past two years, sixteen of us from this show have worked on some good projects including two puja songs that did very well.
What are your upcoming plans and ventures?
Frankly, I only want to focus on the present, and I do not worry much about the future. My YouTube channel and Facebook page are very dear to me, and I am planning to develop them more. Besides, I am sincerely working on some original songs, and they will be released very soon. I am equally looking forward to entertaining everyone with more songs like "Rupkothar Jogote".
