Noble is a ‘druggie’, wife-beater: Ex-wife
Yesterday, singer Mainul Ahsan Noble was taken in for questioning by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, on account of a fraud case that was lodged against the singer four days ago, at the Motijheel Police Station. The Lalbagh division of DB took him into custody based on that.
Soon after, his wife Salsabil Mahmud was also asked to come into the DB office, where she spoke to the media about her husband, Noble.
"Noble as a person or a singer–was a good man. He fell into the trap of some shady individuals, and ended up addicted. That brought on a change in his behaviour and he became a whole different person. Whatever happened after, happened due to his addiction issues," claimed Salsabil to the media.
She also claimed that the people involved with supplying Noble with drugs included an air hostess, who would provide him with different kinds of drugs. Salsabil however, did not unveil the name of the people involved or the said air hostess as her protests in the past got her threatened by different anonymous callers.
Salsabil also accused Noble of physically assaulting her after being intoxicated, where during one incident she had to call the emergency helpline–999–where police rescued and admitted her to a hospital. After that incident, Noble informed the police that during intoxication he is unable to make judgements and thus physically assaults his wife. For which Salsabil then lodged a general diary complaint with Gulshan Police station. While speaking about what happened, Salsabil lodged a verbal complaint against the abuse at the DB office yesterday as well.
Despite all that has happened, Salsabil still wants Noble to recover. They had recently gotten divorced when Noble's addiction issues could not be brought under control. She mentioned lastly, "I want Noble to return to his usual self and practice music again".
Noble was brought before the CM court by Police on account of the fraud case lodged against him at Motijheel police station. According to the case statement, Noble took money for a show that he did not end up performing in. Furthermore, the court has granted one-day remand of the singer. Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) gave the order yesterday.
Sources mentioned that the court ordered for one-day remand after hearing both parties' testimonials. In the case lodged against Noble, he was accused of embezzling BDT 1 lakh 72 thousand. On Tuesday, a man named Safayet Islam lodged a fraud case against the singer.
