As the year draws to a close, Bangladesh's music scene is buzzing with new releases and projects. Artistes are not only preparing fresh tracks but also finding innovative ways to connect with their audiences through digital platforms like YouTube and Spotify. From folk melodies to contemporary compositions, these musicians are ending the year on a high note while gearing up for a busy new year.

Fahmida Nabi

For veteran singer Fahmida Nabi, staying active throughout the year is essential. Known for her commitment to quality music, she has released three songs recently, all penned by female lyricists. "I believe that an artist should remain busy with music year-round," she says. "Listeners are always eager for new content, and I'm just as excited to share it with them." Fahmida promises more new releases in the upcoming year, continuing her dedication to producing songs that resonate with her audience.

Beauty

A household name since her rise to fame on "Close Up-1: Tomakei Khujchhey Bangladesh," Beauty continues to mesmerize listeners with her soulful renditions. "I've recently recorded two original songs for radio—both have beautiful lyrics, and I believe that the audience will appreciate them," she says. Beauty is also venturing into the digital space, having recorded three new songs for YouTube, including two folk songs. The music videos are ready, and she expects them to be released in January, just in time for the new year. "I'm confident these folk songs will resonate with everyone," she adds.

Sabbir Zaman

Busy as both a singer and music director, Sabbir's recent solo releases include "Ami Akash Hoye Achi" and "Bondhu," a song that celebrates friendship. Additionally, he has worked on a duet titled "Khub Adore" and took charge of its musical arrangement. Sabbir is also nurturing new talent at Alfa Music, focusing on authentic artistry over commercial success. "We're not thinking about profit; we're prioritizing pure music," he emphasizes.

Sajia Sultana Putul

Putul is keeping busy with television performances and two new songs that are set to release soon, possibly this December. One of these, "Shesher Kobita Gulo," is composed by Syed Reza Ali, while the other, "Ekti Khuner Raat," has both its music and lyrics handled by the same composer. "I've been fully immersed in my music lately," she says, referring to her active schedule in recent months.

Kornia

After more than a decade in the industry, Kornia continues to make waves. Her recent hit, a duet titled "Ami Keno Baar Baar Preme Pore Jai" with Rubel Khondokar, has already garnered attention. Kornia plans to release the audio soon, with a music video in the works if the track is well-received. Looking ahead, she has multiple projects lined up, including a duet with Belal Khan and more solo efforts slated for release early next year. "I've got quite a few surprises for the new year," she says, hinting at an exciting future.

Pulak Adhikary

A versatile artist, Pulak is balancing his role as a performer with that of a music director. Currently, he's working on a 15-song project, all of which he's written and composed. Among his collaborations, he has produced a new track for Kona, set for release next year, and has a song with Ankhi Alamgir ready for a January launch. "I've taken on a 100-song project," Pulak reveals, adding that he's completed 15 songs so far. His upcoming releases include a classical piece of his own as well as a song for Sithi Saha. "It's been a non-stop year for me, and I'm fully immersed in my music."

As these musicians gear up for their releases, it's clear that 2024 will kick off with a diverse array of music, keeping fans and listeners eagerly anticipating what's next.
