The latest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees were announced yesterday, featuring a diverse lineup ranging from a chart-topping pop icon to an improvisational jam band.

Eligibility for nomination requires that an artiste or group must have launched their first commercial release at least 25 years before consideration. The selection criteria includes an artiste's impact on music culture, their impact on subsequent musicians, and the breadth, longevity, and influence of their body of work.

This year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ballot features eight first-time nominees, including Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish.

"These outstanding artistes have each forged their own distinct sound and identity, inspiring generations of fans while pushing the boundaries of rock & roll," said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, in an official statement.

Ballots for this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees will be sent to a global panel of over 1,200 voters, including musicians, music historians, and industry experts.

The official list of inductees will be unveiled in late April, alongside honourees selected through three special committee categories: Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Award, which recognises non-performing contributors.

The 2025 Induction Ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles this fall, with specific dates and ticket details to be announced in the coming months.

The 14 nominees for the Class of 2025 include:

Bad Company

The Black Crowes

Mariah Carey

Chubby Checker

Joe Cocker

Billy Idol

Joy Division/New Order

Cyndi Lauper

Maná

Oasis
