Sonia Hossain tantalises in Urdu song from '1971 Shei Shob Din'
Hridi Huq's directorial "1971 Shei Shob Din" is set to greet audiences on August 18 and prior to release, "Ye Shamey", an Urdu song from the film, has been released.
Sonia Hossain, a familiar face from the small screen, takes centre stage in the song's music video. The song has been sung by Sanchari Sengupta, written by Chayanika Dutta and composed bv Debojyoti Mishra.
Much like the film's premise, which is based on the Liberation war, the musical sequence also successfully captures the essence of that time. Sonia Hossain has also garnered praises for her portrayal of a sensual songstress of the 70s.
Speaking about her role, Sonia mentioned, "In the film, I portrayed the role of a Pakistani singer. I had prepared for this character for almost two months. Rayhan was our choreographer who helped me learn everything."
"Hridi Huq is a very patient and an honest individual," said Sonia about the film's director, whom she also described as a genius. "I performed an item song in her debut directorial, that feels nice to think about."
Although Sonia has worked in multiple dramas under Hridi Huq's direction previously, this will be her first time working with Hridi as a film director. Apart from working in showbiz, Sonia is also affiliated with Dr Enamul Huq and Lucky Enam's theatre troupe, Nagorik Nattyangon.
