Tapas Bapi Das, only living member of Moheener Ghoraguli, loses life to cancer
The only living member of the legendary Bangla rock band Moheneer Ghoraguli, Tapas Das, lovingly known as Bapi Da, has passed away. He was struggling with the third stage of cancer, undergoing chemotherapy.
He had been grappling with cancer for a long time, his family struggling to gather funds for treatment as well. This year on two occasions, artists on both sides of Bengal, came together to raise funds for his cancer treatment. However, before the concert for him could take place in Bangladesh on July 14, he passed away earlier today.
In 1975, Moheener Ghoraguli were one of the first Bangla rock bands. Almost 47 years have passed since they first came around. Yet, even today, their songs are still popular. Even though their songs are still around, one by one, the band members have passed away.
Moheener Ghoraguli revolutionised the world of Bengali music, bringing forth radical changes with their enchanting music.
