Taylor Swift has reclaimed her spot at the top of Spotify's Wrapped list for the year. On Wednesday, the music streaming platform unveiled its much-anticipated Wrapped feature, an annual summary highlighting user engagement and listening trends over the past year. According to Variety, Swift was crowned the most-streamed artiste on Spotify once again.
Swift soars to the top again
Taylor Swift claimed the title of the most-streamed artiste on Spotify, propelled by the massive success of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department." The album dominated the platform, becoming the most-streamed record of the year.
Breaking multiple records, it achieved an unprecedented 300 million streams in a single day and surpassed 1 billion streams within its first week of release back in April.
Most streamed songs
Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" took the crown as the most-streamed song of the year, amassing over 1.6 billion streams worldwide. Following closely behind were chart-toppers like Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things," Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather," and FloyyMenor and Cris MJ's "Gata Only."
Other standout tracks included "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims, "End of Beginning" by Djo, and "Too Sweet" by Hozier. "One of the Girls" by The Weeknd featuring Jennie and Lily Rose Depp, Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer," and "Die With a Smile" by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga also earned their spots among the most-streamed hits of the year.
Taylor Swift's music dominated Spotify this year, garnering a staggering 26.6 billion streams globally. Other albums that made waves include Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft," Sabrina Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet," and Karol G's "Mañana Será Bonito."
Ariana Grande's "Eternal Sunshine" also ranked among the year's favourites, alongside Taylor Swift's re-recorded "1989" (Taylor's Version), SZA's "SOS," and again Swift's "beloved Lover."
To honour this monumental achievement by the global music icon, Spotify introduced a special Wrapped badge, prominently displayed on Taylor Swift's profile. This exclusive feature celebrates her record-breaking success and fortifies her status as a streaming powerhouse.
