There’s a special place in hell for them: Shakira hints at Pique’s girlfriend
Shakira and Gerard Piqué had one of the ugliest breakups in the history of celebrity splits. The couple didn't end their relationship on a good note as Shakira continues to throw shades at Pique for cheating on her while she was on a tour.
The "Waka Waka" singer recently released her new Spanish song TQG, which has been dubbed a break-up song because it criticises her ex after he went public with his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti.
Shakira believed in the idea of a happily ever after and that a woman requires a man to be complete. However, when Pique broke her trust, her dreams become shattered.
"I had that dream of having a family: mother and father living with their children under the same roof," Shakira said on En Punto with Enrique Acevedo in Spanish. Not every dream in life comes true, but life always finds a way to compensate."
"There is this quote that I love that says, 'There is a special place in hell for women who don't support women," she added. Shakira did not mention Gerard's new girlfriend, but her statement is being interpreted that way.
Shakira admits that she was "emotionally quite dependent on men." But she has learned to fight her own battle and she is stronger than ever before.
When speaking about her 11-year relationship with Gerard, Shakira sounded heartbroken, saying, "you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again, and also be an example to my children."
Shakira and Gerard share two sons Milan and Sasha. In November, the couple reached a custody agreement under which the children would live in Miami with their mother.
