Mahi "unfit", "too old" to be in ‘Agnee 3’: Abdul Aziz

Mahiya Mahi debuted in Dhallywood through filmmaker Abdul Aziz and his production company Jazz Multimedia. Together, they delivered two of the most successful women-centric action movies "Agnee" and "Agnee 2".

The chairman of Jazz Multimedia, Abdul Aziz, announced in his Facebook post that "Agnee 3" is coming. Fans of the movie were curious as to whether Mahiya Mahi will reprise her role or whether someone new will replace her.

One of the fans responded in Abdul Aziz's post that he wants to see Mahiya Mahi back in "Agnee 3", as she gave her best performance in the movie. However, the filmmaker outright rejected the actress's return to the popular franchise.

"Mahiya Mahi will definitely not be in "Agnee 3" as she currently lacks physical fitness and flexibility. She is too old to play such tough characters. This will be a new story with more tough action stunts. So, it will be better if she is not in the movie," said Abdul Aziz.

Some were also speculating on the post that Puja Chery might replace Mahiya Mahi in the movie. However, Abdul Aziz ruled out that possibility as well.

"We need a superfit character for this movie. We are thinking of taking an actress from Hollywood as these films will be a whole lot more challenging than the earlier movies. There will be risky stunts in the movie.  I don't think Puja will be able to take on such risky scenes," mentioned Abdul Aziz.

Jazz Multimedia has finalised the script. However, they are yet to make any decision regarding the director. Aziz informed that he is in initial talks with Saikat Nasir. He might come on board as a director or they might opt for a Hollywood director as well.

"Agnee" starring Mahiya Mahi and Arifin Shuvoo was released in 2014. The movie was a roaring success in the cinema halls. In the sequel, "Agnee 2", Mahi was seen opposite Indian actor Om Sahani which was also successful at the theatres. Both the movies were directed by Iftakar Chowdhury.
