Aamir Khan donates Rs 25 lakh to families affected by Himachal Pradesh disaster
Aamir Khan has been known for his philanthropic work over the years, the actor was deeply moved by the recent disaster in Himachal Pradesh. The city suffered from terrible landslides, and widespread destruction and it also witnessed the collapse of multiple buildings.
As a generous gesture, Aamir Khan donated Rs 25 lakh to the Aapda Raahat Kosh 2023 to assist families affected by the current calamity.
While thanking Aamir Khan for his crucial support, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the assistance will surely aid in relief and rehabilitation activities targeted at assisting impacted families in recovering from the disaster's aftermath.
The chief minister stated that the fund will be used wisely to ensure that it reaches people in desperate need. He stated that the wonderful gesture of the Hindi cinema superstar was likely to significantly impact the lives of individuals who had been negatively affected by the State's monsoon fury.
Rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has caused numerous landslides and cloudbursts in various places.
Returning to Aamir Khan, his film "Laapataa Ladies", directed by Kiran Rao, was well-praised at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Set in rural India in 2001, the story of "Laapataa Ladies" revolves around the hilarious situation that unfolds once two young brides become separated from a train.
"Laapataa Ladies" is co-produced by Aamir and Jyoti Deshpande and presented by Jio Studios. Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions produced the film, while the script was based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.
