Ajay Devgn has been in awe of Srijit Mukherji's upcoming cop universe film "Dawshom Awbotaar". The film's poster and trailer have impressed everyone, from Amitabh Bachchan to Bollywood's favourite "Singham".

Recently, Ajay Devgn shared best wishes for "Dawshom Awbotaar" on his Instagram account.

"Shubho Mahalaya! Presenting 'Dawshom Awbotaar', the original Bengali Cop Universe. Best wishes from Singham to Prabir. In cinemas on October 19," read the post.

Jaya Ahsan shared the post and thanked the "Singham" star. "It really means a lot. Thank you Ajay Devgn," stated the actress.

The multi-starrer film will be released on the occasion of Durga Puja.

"Dawshom Awbotaar" is a prequel to two of Srijit's previous cop dramas, "Baishe Srabon" and "Vinci Da", creating a 'cop universe'.

Apart from Prosenjit, the film also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Jisshu U Sengupta, and Jaya Ahsan in central roles. While we could easily recognise most of the characters through its trailer, there is a sense of mystery around Jaya Ahsan's character who boldly states in the trailer that she knows who is the serial killer.

The plot centers around a sequence of killings, police investigations, and aspects of love and humour – laying the stage for characters from earlier films to rejoin. Prabir Roychowdhury, played by Prosenjit, works with Anirban's character, Bijoy Poddar, to solve a case of serial homicides hitting Kolkata.
