Another film steps back from local theatres to avoid head-to head with 'Jawaan'
Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, the director of the film "Dushshahoshi Khoka", decided to postpone the release of his film on September 8 due to the potential release of Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" in Bangladeshi theatres on the same day.
However, the decision still depends on "Jawan" getting censor clearance in Bangladesh.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the director expressed, "The release of 'Jawaan' in Bangladesh on the same day as its global release is a significant event. Many individuals are urging me to consider rescheduling my movie's release."
"If 'Jawaan' obtains censor approval, I may discuss postponing my film's release with my team," he added.
Actress Shahnaz Khushi, the mother of Shommo Joyti, the lead actor in "Dushshahoshi Khoka", took to her social media accounts to inform fans of the film's release date adjustment. She wrote, "For your information, the release date of the movie 'Dushshahoshi Khoka' on September 8 has been changed due to unavoidable reasons. Once the schedule is finalised, I will update you."
"We deeply regret this temporary alteration," the post added.
"Dushshahoshi Khoka" is a government-granted film which captures the early life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Shommo Joyti will be seen essaying the character of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the film.
As per the distributor association's information, two Bengali movies are currently listed for release on September 8. They are– Delwar Jahan Jhantu's "Sujan Majhi" and Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar's "Dushshahoshi Khoka".
