‘Argentina needs to win for us Bangalees’: Swastika Mukherjee

The FIFA World Cup has been a roller coaster ride for audiences, with fan favourites Brazil and Portugal bidding adieu to this year's tournament in a shocking turn of events. Argentina, one of the most popular teams in Bangladesh, has qualified for the semi-finals and will be going up against Croatia on December 14.

Popular Tollywood actress Swastika Mukherjee, who is a die-hard fan of Argentina, desperately wants her team to take home the World Cup, as she believes that Bengalis will be upset if another of their favourite teams lose, mostly after Brazil's exit in the quarter finals. 

Recently, Swastika shared a status on Facebook, talking about her dear Argentina.

"Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch Argentina's next match. I have left the fate of Argentina to God. Messi has to win the game. I don't think Bengalis will be able to tolerate another of their favourite teams leaving. Argentina needs to win their next game for us Bengalis," read the post.

In the same post, one of her fans commented that if Argentina wins, then the actress has to post a picture of her wearing a blue and white saree, a challenge which Swastika gracefully accepted. "Done, promise I will wear the saree, Now Argentina has to win the competition," replied the actress.
