Renowned actress Arleen Sorkin, known as the original voice behind Harley Quinn in "Batman: The Animated Series" and a prominent figure in "Days of Our Lives", passed away yesterday at the age of 67.

DC Studios CEO James Gunn shared the somber news of Sorkin's demise in an Instagram post. Gunn paid tribute to her exceptional talent as the original voice of Harley Quinn and acknowledged her role in shaping the beloved character. He extended his condolences to her family and friends.

Arleen Sorkin began her entertainment career as part of a comedy troupe and a cabaret performer during the 1970s and 1980s. Her breakthrough came in 1984 when she secured the role of Calliope Jones in "Days of Our Lives".

Sorkin's outstanding performance in the film earned her two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in both 1988 and 1989. 

In a significant contribution to the world of animation, Sorkin lent her voice to Harley Quinn in the iconic 1992 episode of "Batman: The Animated Series" titled "Joker's Favor". 

She continued to portray the character across various projects, including "Superman: The Animated Series", "The New Batman Adventures", "Gotham Girls", "Static Shock", "Justice League", "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker", and "The Batman Superman Movie: The World's Finest".

Beyond her acting roles, Sorkin was also involved in writing and producing. She contributed to "How to Marry a Billionaire" and "Fired Up", co-wrote the 1997 film "Picture Perfect", and penned two episodes of "Tiny Toon Adventures".
