Aryan Khan’s bail plea rejected, to remain in custody

The Mumbai Magistrate court refused to grant bail to Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and two others, in relation to a drugs seizure case.
The court had granted Aryan and seven others judicial custody for 14 days on Thursday and his lawyers had to file a fresh bail application on Friday (October 8). Aryan will remain in custody for now. He will move the sessions court for bail.
The 23-year-old, from whom the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has admitted that no drugs were recovered, and other accused are currently housed in (and will be returned to) Mumbai's Arthur Road jail.
Arguing against bail, the NCB had claimed that Aryan could tamper with evidence and influence witnesses.
However, Aryan's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, underlined a crucial point - that the NCB had failed to find drugs either on his client's person or in his bags.
He also referred to statements by the Supreme Court, which earlier said interrogation, investigation, and confrontation of the accused with others could take place even after bail.
The NCB arrested Aryan and seven others during a raid of a party on a luxury cruise off the coast of Mumbai on October 2.
