'Avatar: The Way of Water' a 'masterpiece', say critics

James Cameron: Avatar 2 impress critics

James Cameron made fans wait for 13 long years for the sequel to his blockbuster film, "Avatar" (2009).

Recently the sequel had its premiere at London, and the initial social media reactions to "Avatar: The Way of Water" has been incredible.

According to many critics, Cameron received much praise and the film was tagged by many as a masterpiece. While some disagreed with the statement, others also said that the sequel was better than the original.

For many who attended the film's premiere, the runtime of three hours and ten minutes has been one of the major concerns. They are assuming that the length might turn away audiences from watching the film.

However, the film's visuals and character development have been applauded by many viewers. The much-anticipated "Avatar: The Way of Water" is the second part of a planned franchise of five films.

Celebrities who were at the premiere took to Twitter to praise the project. Germain Lussier tweeted, "This film, 'Avatar: The Way of Water', left me breathless. Visually stunning, emotionally overwhelming, with some of the most impressive sustained action scenes I've ever seen. The performances are incredible too, especially by all the kids. Wow. James Cameron truly doesn't miss."

Film critic Amanda Salas shared in an interview that she enjoyed it even more than the first one.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" brings back Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver from the first part, while also adding Kate Winslet to the cast. The film is slated for global release on December 16.
