Bangladesh Film Directors Association to award both mainstream and web films
For the first time, the Bangladesh Film Directors Association will award the best work to film-related individuals. In association with the satellite television channel ATN Bangla, 22 awards will be given in 21 categories of films and web films released in 2022.
This news was announced at a press conference held at the 8th floor of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), today (August 12).
Shaheen Sumon, Secretary General, Bangladesh Film Directors Association informed that 'ATN-BFDA Award 2022' will be held on October 28. He urged the associated people, to submit their works to the directors' association by August 24.
An agreement was signed between ATN Bangla and Film Directors Association, by Kazi Hayat, President of Film Director's Association and Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Chairman of ATN Bangla.
"Most of the movies I have produced previously were superhits. I have taken the initiative to produce 6 movies for the next year's Eid-ul-Azha," said Dr Mahfuzur Rahman. "I have signed an agreement with the director's association today. I hope our collaboration will bring something good."
Directors' Association President Kazi Hayat said, "People criticise about all the awards in the world. Even, I have seen the names of the awardees change overnight. We hope that people will not get a chance to talk about this award. We hope to keep the transparency."
Actors Symon Sadiq and Emon hosted the press conference. Film artistes like Sohel Rana, Ilias Kanchan, Rozina, Aruna Biswas, Nipun Akter, Khorshed Alam Khosru, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, Chotku Ahmed, Shaheen Kabir Tutul, Apurba Rana and many others were present at the event.
