Ben Affleck to return as Batman

On Thursday, Jason Momoa revealed on an Instagram post that Ben Affleck would be returning to the role of Batman in the upcoming film, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom". The actor made this announcement after a tour group spotted Momoa and Affleck together on set.

Momoa, who plays Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), shared a video of the tour group outside his trailer along with photos of him and Affleck, where the latter is in his Bruce Wayne outfit.

The Aquaman star captioned the post: "REUNITED bruce and arthur. love u and miss u Ben WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright. busted on set all great things coming AQUAMAN 2 all my aloha j."

Included in the post is a video where Momoa is talking to the tour group, saying, "Well, we tried to keep it a secret! That's what happens, Warner Bros, when you walk out of the set and there are our fans."

Ben Affleck had famously been dropped from the DCEU following the commercial failure that was "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League". Instead, the actor was rumoured to be returning to direct and star in a standalone Batman movie, however, now that project seems to have been scrapped and turned into Matt Reeves' "The Batman", starring Robert Pattinson.

"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is directed by James Wan,  and is slated for a 2023 release. In the meantime, it has also been reported that Affleck will appear as the 'Caped Crusader' in the upcoming movie "The Flash".
