‘Besharam Rang' shot with dirty mindset: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister
The first song from "Pathaan", "Besharam Rang", has stirred a lot of controversy, with many Indians calling to 'boycott' the film. Many have touted the song as being 'vulgar', saying that it goes against Indian culture.
Madhya Pradesh's home minister, Narottam Mishra also criticised the song by stating that it "has been shot with a dirty mindset". Mishra also shared that he considers Deepika's dress to be outrageous. The minister also urged the makers to fix this issue immediately.
"Deepika Padukone had previously supported the Tukde Tukde Gang at JNU, which is why everyone knows her mentality," noted the minister.
"And that is why I believe that the name of this song 'Besharam Rang' is also objectionable in itself, also, the way saffron and green have been worn in the music video was not right. It needs improvement. If it is not done, then we will consider whether it should be allowed to screen in Madhya Pradesh," added Mishra.
On Monday, Yash Raj Films released the first song from the film "Pathaan", titled "Besharam Rang". In the music video for the song, Deepika Padukone looked sizzling in a gold bikini, while Shah Rukh Khan flaunted his chiseled eight-pack abs.
The peppy dance track features Shah Rukh and Deepika romancing each other in various beautiful European locations.
Despite these protests, the song has already proved a massive success for the film, which is directed by Siddharth Anand. "Pathaan" is set for release on January 25, 2023.
