The sequel to Priyadarshan's classic comedy film "Bhagam Bhag" is set to kick off its production soon, bringing back the iconic trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Govinda after 18 years.

The sequel rights were recently purchased from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who is also actively developing the script. The film will be co-produced by Roaring River Productions and Shemaroo.

When asked why the sequel took so long, the production house explained, "A unique film like 'Bhagam Bhag' deserves a sequel that's equally special. When the timing felt right, we decided to go for it."

Sarita, who has been involved in the film industry for many years, has played a key creative role alongside her husband, Ashwin Varde, a producer known for films such as "Boss," "Mubarakan," "Kabir Singh," "OMG 2," and "Khel Khel Mein."

"Bhagam Bhag 2" is in the final stages of development and is expected to begin production in mid-2025.

The makers have teased that the sequel will be "madder, crazier, and funnier." Further details will be shared once the film is officially announced.
