Catching up with Doyel
After her debut in the silver screen with "Alpha", Dilruba Hossain Doyel didn't have to look back. The audience welcomed the newcomer with all their hearts, and after that, the actor went on to make her mark in the film industry with her performance in the films like — "Chandrabati Kotha", "Lal Moroger Jhuti". Two of her films— "Laal Shari" and "Casino" were released this Eid-ul-Azha.
In conversation with The Daily Star, she spoke about her recent releases, experience of working in films, and more.
"'Laal Shari' is set in an rural location, and the role I played in it, is completely different than my role in Saikat Nasir's 'Casino'," shared the actor.
Recently the special screenings of "Laal Shari" was held, where stars and journalists attended the show. All of the artistes of the film donned red shari and watched the film together. "People are appreciating our film, and it is very exciting for me," said Doyel.
In her career, she has worked with noted filmmakers like Nasir Uddin Yousuff (Alpha) and Nurul Alam Atique (Laal Moroger Jhuti) and earned accolades from the critics as well. How does the actor prepare for the role before she faces the camera? In response to this question she shared, "I do all my homework properly before I go to the shoots," added Doyel.
Apart from that, Doyel is happy that audience is returning to the cinemas, and all of the films released this Eid have rejuvenated the film industry.
She was also featured in one of the chapters of Bangladesh's first anthology film, "Eti Tomari Dhaka". She also rocked the OTT platform with her performance in Chorki's web series "Jodi Ami Beche Phiri", and in Hoichoi original web series "Buker Moddhye Agun". She is also in the talks with more OTT projects to be announced soon.
"The platform does not matter to me, I always want to be with acting, as it is my ultimate passion," she said.
