Dhaka International Film Festival to award cash prizes to Screenplay Lab winners
The 24th Dhaka International Film Festival is set to take place from January 10 to 18 next year, with preparations already underway.
As part of the festival, a segment titled West Meets East Screenplay Lab will be held over four days, from January 11 to 14. The organisers have invited screenplay submissions for this lab.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The festival authorities will select 10 screenplays from the submissions. The chosen participants will receive expert guidance to further refine their projects during the festival.
On the final day, participants will present their projects to a jury panel, which will award the top three screenplays. The first-place winner will receive Tk 5 lakh, the second-place winner will receive Tk 3 lakh, and the third-place winner will receive Tk 2 lakh.
Screenplay submissions will open on April 1, with the submission link available on the Dhaka International Film Festival's website.
Each submission must include a logline, synopsis, director's statement, treatment, and director's profile. Additionally, participants must complete the full version of their screenplay within three months before the lab begins.
