Did Aishwarya Rai remove ‘Bachchan’ from her surname?
Aishwarya Rai recently participated in the Global Women's Forum in Dubai, UAE, where her heartfelt speech on women's empowerment gained international attention. However, when she was referred to solely as 'Aishwarya Rai,' with no mention of 'Bachchan,' even on the on-stage graphics, it fueled divorce rumours, suggesting that she and her husband Abhishek Bachchan might be heading towards separation.
The "Guzaarish" actress talked about the importance of women's empowerment. Several videos of her were posted on the official Instagram account of the Dubai Women Establishment.

Aishwarya wore a stunning blue ensemble with silver embellishments and spoke to the audience about the significance of perseverance and creativity. However, what stood out to many was that her name was displayed on the screen as 'Aishwarya Rai—International Star,' omitting the 'Bachchan' surname she previously used.
The omission of her surname quickly sparked online discussions, particularly given the ongoing rumours about her personal life.
Whispers about a potential split between Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan have recently gained momentum. The speculation started after Aishwarya attended a major wedding solo. While she was accompanied by their daughter, Aaradhya, Abhishek attended the event with his parents, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, as well as his sister, Shweta Nanda Bachchan.
Adding to the growing rumours, Abhishek Bachchan stirred further speculation by liking an Instagram post about divorce. Additionally, his name has been linked with actress Nimrat Kaur, his co-star in the recent film "Dasvi".
Amid the public buzz, legendary Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan addressed the rumours in a heartfelt blog post, expressing his frustration with media speculation. He highlighted the harm caused by unverified information, especially when it is presented ambiguously, leaving room for doubt.
Amitabh shared his thoughts, stating, "Speculations are speculations… they are speculated untruths, without verifications." He stressed that such baseless rumours can lead to widely accepted falsehoods. He also criticised the media's use of question marks, explaining how they create uncertainty and undermine the credibility of the information being shared.
