Elated to receive the first award for ‘Mohanagar’: Ashfaque Nipun

Ashfaque Nipun won the Best Director for a Web Series award for Hoichoi's "Mohanagar" at the second edition of the Channel i Digital Media Awards, presented in association with the ICT Division and Snac Keeper as the title sponsor.

This is Ashfaque Nipun's first Best Director award, and the first award for "Mohanagar", overall.

Earlier on, he won the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Screenplay twice.

The noted director shared the news on Facebook, thanking the entire cast and crew.

"I am elated to receive the first award for 'Mohanagar' at Channel i Digital Media Awards. It feels great to be nominated alongside my guru Mostofa Sarwar Farooki in the Best Director category. I really couldn't have done this without the immense support and love from my crew members including the performing and technical artistes. The success of 'Mohanagar' would have been incomplete without their outstanding contributions," wrote Ashfaque Nipun.

"Special thanks to Hoichoi and their Content Head, Anindo Banerjee, for allowing me to share my story with the whole world.  I am truly grateful to Anindo Banerjee for trusting me completely, and not letting the naysayers influence him."

He also thanked the audiences, for showering their love upon "Mohanagar". "[The viewers'] love and support have influenced me to tell more inspiring and courageous tales for my fans," added Ashfaque Nipun.

"We will soon start working on "Mohanagar" season 2. However, in the month of March, my second web series 'Sabrina' will be released on Hoichoi. I really hope that the audiences will love 'Sabrina' as much they have appreciated 'Mohanagar'."
