False rumours are being spread about ‘Makeup’, says Anonno Mamun
This is the second time now that the release of Anonno Mamun's "Makeup" has been halted by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. On January 21, the Appellate Committee declared the film 'unfit' for a theatrical release.
Earlier, a member of the committee told The Daily Star, "The committee has ruled that the film is unfit for screening due to various reasons— including weak production, weak screenplay and bad cinematography."
Meanwhile, Anonno Mamun strongly detested the remarks made by the committee. "My film's screenplay and cinematography are not weak. These are all false rumours. I cannot believe my capabilities as a director have been questioned," he told The Daily Star.
"Do the honourable committee members have any idea about films, screenplays, or cinematography—this is the question I am yet to find an answer to. I am expressing my protest against the member of the committee who is spreading such false rumors."
"Makeup" features Tariq Anam Khan, Ziaul Roshan, and Nipa Ahmed Realy in prominent roles.
